Boarding & Grooming

No matter where you’re going, or where you’re coming from, rest assured that our priority is keeping your furry friend happy, healthy and safe.

Pet boarding is offered by Northpark Animal Hospital as a service to our clients. If your pet has yet to be seen by one of our veterinarians or is new to the Northpark family, he or she must receive a physical exam by one of our doctors prior to boarding. We are first and foremost a hospital, and we take the well-being of our patients and our boarding guests seriously.

As an AAHA accredited facility, we offer boarding for medically complex dogs and cats as well as standard boarding services. Our boarding facility is well staffed and veterinarian supervised. If a pet should develop a health concern while boarding, we will utilize the contact information you provide to let you know and to discuss treatment options. Of course, even if we are unable to reach you, be assured that we will administer the treatment your pet needs while in our care.

To ensure a flea-free environment for all pets, each guest is administered a Capstar upon arrival, which is an oral medication that eliminates fleas. There is a minimal charge for this medication.

All boarding guests may schedule routine services such as grooming during their stay. Simply contact our office to make these arrangements prior to your arrival date.

Canine Boarding in Spacious Kennels

Your dog will be our guest in a comfortable, climate-controlled environment with spacious indoor kennels and runs. Individual attention and three outdoor walks each day help our guests to feel relaxed and content. While we provide bedding for every boarder, you may wish to bring bedding or a toy from home to help your dog feel more secure.

For the health and safety of all our guests, boarders must be current on vaccinations. If your pet received vaccines at another clinic, those records must be provided prior to boarding.

Canine vaccines required include:

  • Distemper

  • Hepatitis

  • Parvovirus

  • Leptospirosis

  • Rabies

  • Bordetella

  • Parainfluenza

Feline Boarding in Our Private Facility

Your cat will be our guest in a relaxing climate-controlled environment separate from the canine boarders. Individual attention in a quiet atmosphere allows our feline guests to relax in comfort. While we provide bedding for every boarder, you may wish to bring bedding or a familiar toy to help your cat feel more secure.

For the health and safety of all our guests, boarders must be current on vaccinations. If your pet received vaccines at another clinic, those records must be provided prior to boarding.

Feline vaccines required include:

  • Feline viral rhinotracheitis

  • Calicivirus

  • Chlamydia

  • Panleukopenia

  • Rabies

In addition to these vaccines, we require a record of current negative tests for feline leukemia and feline AIDS.

Basic Grooming Services

Pets require regular care of their skin and coat to feel comfortable and remain healthy.

Grooming your pet removes dead skin and hair, eliminates matting, and helps to detect any veterinary problems such as infestations or dermatitis. In addition, your pet will look and smell fresh after grooming, making for a more pleasant companion.

Grooming services at Northpark Animal Hospital include the basics of bathing, shaving, and nail trims. We also perform flea treatment, ear cleaning and anal gland expression.
